This blog was born out of way to continue helping my recovery process. My occupational/vestibular therapist and I were talking about ways I could spend more time desensitizing from and acclimating to computer time. Since I like to write I figured starting a blog would help my recovery both by putting in more screen time to help my tolerance and eye issues, and by helping me work on some of my cognitive problems. So, here I am!
Aside from this being a helpful "therapy tool" to aid in my recovery, I wanted to document my journey in the hopes it could help someone else. My traumatic brain injury (TBI) stemmed from a car accident that occurred in December 2018. It's been a long journey, and at times I felt alone in that I hadn't known anyone that had gone through anything similar to what I have been going through. Therefore I wanted to post to let people know they are not alone. What you feel day 1 is not necessarily how you will feel day 365+. Also, I aim to provide encouragement because my recovery has been slooooow and erratic (step forward, two steps back kind of thing). But, I see the positive in the small gains and hold onto those to keep pushing forward.
Thank you so much for being here and I hope you find this informative and helpful. As you peruse my site, feel free to share your experiences. You never know, you may encourage someone by sharing!
You are welcome to keep coming back here to see new content. However, a better option is to subscribe to my upcoming newsletter! Once I get them rolled out, you will be the first to get the scoop on new posts and special content that is only available to my subscribers.
